Our community, our children

Quality, inexpensive early childhood education.

Qualified early childhood education.

Kauri Kids staff all think they have the best job in the world! Early childhood education is vital to children's early learning and development. Our staff include qualified early childhood teachers and those on their way to obtaining early childhood diplomas.

Low childcare fees. We support the community.

We’re all about supporting local families and making sure our children have the opportunities to grow, inspire and achieve. We keep our prices as low as possible while continuing to deliver high quality care with qualified and experienced teachers.

One carer to every four children under two.

With children doing so much learning in their early years it’s vital that they receive dedicated care. We pride ourselves on giving each child the attention they deserve and ensure there’s at least one carer to every four children under two and one to eight over twos.

20 FREE hours.

We support the Ministry of Education’s ‘20 Hours ECE’ programme, which provides three and four year old children with early childhood education 20 hours per week at no charge. We’re happy to talk with you further about subsidised childcare.

Here's what our parents say about Kauri Kids.

“In a time where so many centres are geared to profit making, it is refreshing to find a centre that genuinely has children’s best interests at heart. It is wonderful to find such an innovative and caring approach to childcare in South Auckland.”
– Dr Katie Tuck, MBChB, Dip Paeds

“Kauri Kids have friendly staff, good routines and lots for the children to do. The facilities are all set up for play and learning. My child is always happy after a day at Kauri Kids.”
– Michelle Tohovaka

“As parents it was a heartbreaking decision to leave our little boy in the care of strangers. However Kauri Kids has been more than a second home for Raoul. Our boy has learnt so much through the education that has been disguised with play. We thank you for helping him grow and develop in a safe and loving environment.”
– Stephen and Patricia

“It’s just the way the place feels when you walk in. Whenever Scott has been here everybody has always been smiling and happy. You just know the children really are enjoying themselves here. He’s a happy kid and that’s what I need to know. Happy when he’s here, happy when I get him home.”
– Sharon Rarity

Helping to build our community’s future.

Foundations as strong as a Kauri tree.

At Kauri Kids we feel it is important that Manukau’s next generation have access to the highest quality of early childhood education, while ensuring it is affordable for families within our community.
Your child will not only learn about their world but also how to build friendships and develop strong social skills. They will be exposed to a myriad of interests, activities and experiences.

We embrace all cultures.

“Our people reflect the communities in which they work. We have teachers of different ages and ethnicities and they all hold a strong belief in inspiring children to embrace their respective cultures while connecting them to the cultures of others.

Individual child portfolios.

You’ll receive ongoing feedback about your child’s progress and you’ll be kept up to date with your child’s activities through their individual portfolio. Portfolios are regularly reviewed and a great prompt to open communication between staff, children and whanau.

Learning through fun.

With a focus on learning through fun, Kauri Kids offers an ever changing programme to expose children to indoor and outdoor play as well as a range of surfaces and stimulus.
